Does anyone have a template for what amount of clearence needs to be made at the rear of the engine case to clear the shock/spring on an 02 cr250?

Width?
Depth?
Degree?

I haven't had that issue with the 250's and 450's. I have to clearance the 125's and don't know about the GEN4 250's yet it but, it sure looks like you have to.

My gen 3 ('04 CR250 based) AF required no relieving either with the stock spring.

Didn't Bob post the part numbers for the bushings? Why machine them?

my Gen 3 250 (2004) did not require any clearancing with the 500 motor in it, and I am even running a heavier spring 5.4 kg.

hey mike while were on the subject, do you know if i will have any shock spring/case issues on a '05 450 if i use a 6.0 spring ? im not even sure ill need a 6.0 because i think +6 swingarm extension will be plenty long but i wanted to get my ducks in a row just in case a stock spring isnt strong enough

I have a 6.0 and have a good 1/2" of clearance on my '04 450 frame!

5.9 here. I'm 220 no gear.

There are no part #s for the bushings because there not sold and come with a new case. :?

After one gets the sag set correctly or to there liking, with the bike on the stand rotate the spring so the gap on the spring is centered at the cases.

Something I need to recheck.

Does anyone know why the shock rubs the cases on a 125 and not the 250? Is the spring diameter larger on a 125? Mine is 88mm from what I remember. The linkage has a different part number also, so maybe the shock sits further back on the 125?

I'm just wondering because I bought some linkage from a 250 but I don't have it yet. I started with a 125 roller but then bought a 250 frame, but I couldn't install my motor without removing the shock.

Can you measure the diameter of your shock spring? If a 250 shock is smaller, I think I will buy one.

outside diameter is 87mm and the inside diameter is 78mm...that's my rough measurement...that's on a stock yellow spring

My 02 & 03 shock spring rubbed the cases so I clearanced them

My 02 with 01 motor. Now mind you this is a SH that SH/AJ shipped out
to a customer with it rubbing the motor  you can see the paint rubbed off the spring in the pic.
