I ride by myself sometimes, actually most of the time. Not smart and it's either that or not ride at all. What do you guys use to carry your stuff with you? I figure having a phone might be a good thing to have when out alone.
I gotta find some people to ride with here.

thats why I ride in my dickies

keys, cell and wallet are all on me at all times. someone who I will not name got ahead of himself and went riding on a weekend I couldn't make it... the smart ass also decided to follow a mysterious "new trail". he then got stuck in a crevis a hundred feet down and couldn't get out, infact he pushed his bike so hard he squeezed a pebble out!
well, luckily he had his cell and was able to call his dad who drove a honda accord out on the trails and brought a rope to drag him and his bike out
anyway, if he didn't have a cell he may have been stuck there or atleast would have struggled to climb out, then walked all the way home and with a turd squishing around in his pants!
plus there is always the possibility of getting hurt and really needing help!

I have a set of Answer pants with zip-up pockets on them if I really want to carry my phone and wallet with me. I haven't left my truck in a bad area for riding yet, so I usually just hide my keys in the frame somewhere when I leave so I don't have to carry them with me. Either in a crossmember or clipped to a brake line or something.
Of note, if any of you use this information to steal my truck when I'm out, I'll kill 'ya.

I wear one of earlier Camelback Hawgs on top of my Fox Airframe. In it I have the 100 oz. water bladder, a few essential tools, spare spark plugs for my bike and my sons CR85, 2 emergency blankets, a 15 ft. x 1 inch tow strap, 2 feet of gas line, 2 boonie hats, spare clutch lever, trail snacks, my cell phone, wallet, keys, camera, knife, and a magnesium fire starter. I dont even notice the weight anymore. Oh yeah, I also have an emergency whistle clipped on the front strap of the Camelbak.

So I take it that most of you guys really dont ride far enough away from the truck to carry water or tools ??

I never go ride by myself, Ive knocked myself out so many times I realise thats a bad idea.
I have a camelback with a little bottle of 2t oil, a leatherman and about 3ft of clear hose.
I carry everything else I need in my shorts pocket
(papers, tobacco, phone, cards, ID, weed, lighter)

I dont ride by myself either. Im always with my 12 yr old because my friends are too pussy to go riding anymore. One has a yz250 that he rides about once every month and a half, the other has a CR500 that he hasnt been on in over 9 months....and believe me, he has plenty of time to ride it, but he just wont leave the house. My brother has two dirtbikes that both need minor repair, and he just refuses to fix them. The funny thing is that he has all the parts to get one running. It just needs a top end. Thank God my son loves to ride as much as I do.

When I was younger I would just leave the keys on the tire of the truck, and be disapointed when I got back that it was still there!

HAHA^^^
The day i crashed and broke my leg i didnt have a phone on me or my wallet. There was one kid in the pit who had his phone and he made the ambulance call. I wish i never needed the ambulance but there was no way around it, my ankle was fucked. I'm fairly lucky he had that phone on him otherwise i would have been hurting for miles and miles and miles on the back of a quad instead of getting the attention i needed. it's going to be 100% on me at all times in the future.

Too much to list but here is a pic of what, I carry, on trail rides. The light blue sheet is what you put your tools and parts on in the sand so you don't lose any. I have added, a few more things to my back pack, so that I can balance my bike on the kickstand, when either tire is removed, to fix a flat
Hammer.
