Tiny dog saves baby from rattlesnake Mon Jul 23, 7:56 AM ET

Zoey is a Chihuahua, but when a rattlesnake lunged at her owners' 1-year-old grandson, she was a real bulldog.

Booker West was splashing his hands in a birdbath in his grandparents' northern Colorado back yard when the snake slithered up to the toddler, rattled and struck. Five-pound Zoey jumped in the way and took the bites.

"She got in between Booker and the snake, and that's when I heard her yipe," said Monty Long, the boy's grandfather.

The dog required treatment and for a time it appeared she might not survive. Now she prances about.

"These little bitty dogs, they just don't really get credit," Booker's grandma Denise Long told the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald.

yeah, my male (Zeke) is fearless, but my female (wednesday) is a prissy little girl. They saw rain for the first time this morning and decided to roll in the dirt and make mud!

Reminds me of a time feeding the serpants. The big one at one end of the yard the other at the other end. At the end, there's a big enough gap in the fence for him the squeeze through. I usually leave them out as long as I can after feeding. Well the little one, and being male, likes to rome around, one day finding the gap in the fence. Next door the Jack-Russell terrier, Molly, is going off and wanting to play. Good thing Sneezie wasn't playing and just wanted to be left alone. At the time one of Montebellows finest lived next door. Hmmm... before I hop the fence I better check to make sure he's home. Cool he's not. but the gate is locked. I don't know if the neighbor across the street ever told him or not as he watched go over the fence. Molly on the other hand was glad to see me and just wanted to play. Sorry girl, you have no idea. Now if it were the other one you maybe dead and I would be in very deep doo doo.

yeah, we took our min-pin to the dog park once and they had a little and big section, so we went to the little section and a puffy white dog that was roughly 3 times his size decided to hump his head! not even a second later I heard a lot of noise and saw puffs of white furr everywhere, he whooped that dogs ass like it was nothing. We decided to take him to the big dog side after that, but then he picked a fight with a 80lb lab mix, so we stopped going to the dog park. He actually cornered the lab and the lab was scared, it was hillarious. that dog was awesome! :D
