So what is up with MPS?

Post by Travis »

I came accross a thread on the other board by a guy who was tickled to death with his new MPS bike. Then when he was asked for pictures of the welds he claims that MPS told him not to post pictures so he wouldn't.

Here is a link. http://cr500riders.com/cgi/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1222136021

What is the big secret?

pretty shady, sounds like that dude got some SH quality welds and doesn't want anyone to see it!

I've done business w/ george before, seemed pretty cool to me.

I'm on the road and don't have pictures of mine but I can assure you they work. I've had my bike three years and it's holding up just fine. I took it out last weekend to a MX track and was jumping tabletops and doubles with no worries. Also, keep in mind, I'm well over 300 lbs so the welds are definitely getting an extreme test. George told me he uses an aircraft certified welder to do his frames.

If I bought something, and the vendor forbid me from showing it publically, I would tell him to fuck -off....

That guy needs to seriously grow a pair.

Who the hell would buy a conversion, wrapped in a towel anyways?

I am constantly blown away at all the shit that goes on.....

That's what I said if hes too ashamed to let anyone post pictures of what he does then why even be in business. If you aren't proud enough of your work to show it off that doesn't say much about the product. Even if it is a great quality bike and works good like I've heard some people say, I could never buy something with out seeing an example of the work.

That guy on the other site giving the paint job example nailed it IMO

Ok, I didn't ask permission and I hope I don't piss George off. Keep in mind, this was either his first or second conversion. I think the welds are fine but I'm sure some of the prima-donnas out there will rag all over them. Again, they work - that's all I give a shit about. Also keep in mind, I only paid $6500 for my bike. As a photographer, I make a good network technician.

There is no secret. The reason George has asked for no one to post pictures is due to a lawsuit. Everyone in business has to deal with a whacko out there that is out to make a dishonest buck. I don't know all of the details of the suit and it's none of my concern.
