I'm done....

$322 @ Pepboys for a quality aftermarket set up. ( Carter, NOT Airtex!) OEM was $550!

$8 for the tow ( $8 per mile, after 7 miles)

$6 for some Lave Soap

$4.50 for 2 Monsters...

Shit, coulda' bought a new paddle, whip, and a lotta beer for that.

:bash:

At least it crapped out now, and not @ 3am heading for Pismo!

:woot:

Its the first money I've spent on it in 138k miles.... cept' for tires and oil.

I shouldnt complain.

Plan on doing a big maintenance @150k.

Should be good to go from then on...

:wink:

Yeah better it happened now.

I'm tried of working on stuff, car, truck, well the bike is cool. Then go to work and work on more stuff. :x

Lets see, truck;
New radiator, thats been sepping since two phoenix rides ago, ya finally.
Repainted the front hood.
Right front tire leaking again, new valve stem.
New distributor, the pole piece just fell into little pieces. The bad part is I was loaded to do a mini proride day at Milestone. But at least I never made it out of the yard. But worse than that, I thought the timing jumped the cam gear and had to reinstall the cover twice as it was leaking oil after the first time. :chair: :x
Noticed the AC compressor cycling on and off. Hmmm I think its low on R134a. Two cans and I'm golden in like ten minutes. :lol:

Car;
New tie rods last month
New upper ball joints,
Nice to have a tight front end again. Now I know how bad the tires are out of balance. Left front had a nail in it, no biggie, needed a new pair anyway.

Bike, fresh top end and new tires, Sands tires going on tomorrow.

Ok rant over. :blur:

Like everyone said better this weekend then next. And $330 is a hell of alot better then $1500.
That's the main reason I do 95% of my own work on my vehicles.

A/C pumps normally cycle on/off, most systems wont come on if low on refrigerant(safety feature of the system,pressure switch)

Yeah I know, but this was about 10-15 seconds on then off for maybe 30. Once the first can went in it stopped and was much colder too.

But thanks anyway. :D

Yeah, my chevy has 257,000 on the odo with the original motor and trans, still puffs 160psi on all 8!
needs an a\c compressor though...

the last owner was an old guy from louisiana who drove it across the country and to alaska and back a few times and was majorly anal about maintenance. it was so clean I thought it had a recently rebuilt motor and trans, but the old guy said no and handed me a title that said 8 miles on it, so I know he got it new.
He replaced the fuel pump about a year before I got it. :D
So far all I've had to do was a ball joint, brake pads and shoes and oil (and my recharge of the a/c every 2-3 weeks because the compressor is leaking).

na, I got it, but did want to explain since most would call BS on a motor with over 250K still puffing 160
