Got a cool 72 Yamaha 125 2 stroke dirt bike. Needs alittle work but it's complete. Gonna clean it up and use it as a pit bike prolly.

I guess this one was pure luck, dude saw my trailer had a motorcycle ramp on it and asked if I knew anyone that wanted a bike. I said lets take a look at it, it looked good and he gave it to me. It's a matter of being in the right place at the right tiime really. I pour over Craigslist ever day looking for deals. I might be getting a motorhome in a few days because I saw one at a garage sale that was parked behind a big new 5th wheel trailer. I asked the garage sale people how much they wanted for it, it wasn't for sale, but they thought about it and said they would sell it to me. Like I say, you just gotta be in the right place at the right time, and be bold enough to ask questions.

Got the bike running good today and took it for a spin. It doesn't shift right. I guess the trans is in need of service, not sure to what extent though. It shift down to first fine, then up to second it clicks in then slips out, and seems to slip out of 4th too. Bummer because it's a cool little runner. I need to paint the steel tank and fenders and do some maintanence to the suspension, bearings etc., but it is a neat retro machine imo.

Wow, that's it. Mine has that same white tank with the black stripe and the bolt on emblems. I don't have the lights or rear carrier/rack. Mine's rear shocks are aftermarket adjustable units, the front fender is plastic and raised high above the tire. My bikes airbox is gone and it used a clamp on foam filter goody. I hope I can get the transmission figured out without to much trouble.

It's a 69 then, 70's were a different color.

ya, mine was a kickass bright yellow on black
if you can't figure out the trans, those motors go for $50 on ebay all day long, just buy a parts motor and use the best from each to make a good running setup. I was shoping around for one of those motors for my old YSR50, they bolt right into the chassis and use the same 6v setup. that thing would have been scarry!
