spur of the moment we took off to stonyford for davis flats friday night at 10:30pm ,got up the next morning and took the kids for a ride came back in the afternoon had lunch and the adults went out for a spin on the way back in we were coming down M5 and i took the last side trail which just leads back to 5 and then down the trail to the staging area. i was in fourth gear going over some whops getting ready to head down a short grade that had a right hand turn in it, well there was some one coming up the other way in the center of the trail on a KLX300,well i was in the center of the trail to it happened so fast all i cound do was grab a hand full of break SMASH!!!!!! he laid it down to his right, some how my bike did a dead stop and over the bars we go ,i cleared his bike by 3 feet and landed smooth on my back/butt got up to see if he was OK and his bike was pouring out gas from his cap i had to pull my bike off of his, after the dust setteled my bike didnt seam to have any damage and his had a ripped gas tank and the head light/number plate was blown up we gathered his stuff and head down the hill to camp my bike seamed fine ,forks were free ,wheel was rolling OK ,brakes worked good but the bars were pulled up a little ,we got to camp and i felt bad for the guy he was still shakin up!!!! so i offered him$200.00 bucks to take care of some of the damage to his bike he said yea and it was all good. it was getting late and we were running into town for dinner. the next morning i got up and looked at my bike and the bars were a +1 right were i put them, OH KNOW?????? looked at the neck and it was pushed in at the bottom pretty good enough to kink the down tube and the neck side braces i couldnt beleave it oh well, just happy i didnt have to go for a helicopter ride, but i did impact both my wrist and the back is a little sore. WATCH THOSE 2 WAY TRAILS!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad your O.K brother........A head on is one of my worst fears, especially on the trails I ride because a lot of them have blind banked turns that you just cant see around. I always think there going to be a bike or a quad coming the opposite way. In fact, a few weeks ago I almost had a head on with a jeep. He was rollin' kind of slow, but I still ended up having to get off the trail to avoid him. Thats why I never never never let my son lead.!!

I have a buddy that hit head on with a Rail buggy. Destroyed his bike and broke his leg but he was lucky that is all that happened. He pretty much cleared the buggy it was going so fast. Scary stuff.

Beyond that, don't EVER think that because a trail is one way, you can not be cautious about oncoming traffic. There is always some idiot who thinks that sign doesn't apply to him. <experience talking here>

When we go ride somewhere filled with idiots, they always make me ride up front. I haven't yet figured out why I'm dumb enough to agree to it. But people seem to hear the 500 coming and bail off the side of the trail.

sorry the 1 up her came threw you were my second choice would have been on a road trip to come see you picked up a 92' with a cracked engine case at the kicker in OK shape nickel coated frame, fmf pipe, boyessen reeds, new piston all for $500.00 i dont think the guy new what he was doing i started to pull it a part got the gas tank off and noticed the spark plug wire was off?? got the hole thing stripped down and was looking at the engine threw the exh. port the head had no carbon or discoloration at all like brand new same with piston i pulled the plug and looked down it while flashing my light in the exh. and the same with the piston looks like right out of the box wiesco but he didnt hone the cyl. :?: do you think he kicked it till he cracked the case?????????????????????
