I found a used Scotts Stabalizer on Craigslist. Here is a picture. Is that all that I need or is there more to install the unit? The guy wants 250.00 is that a good deal?

Spending $250 on your forks will give better results...

The gold damper is common to all bikes. This runs around $320...

It is the combination of the post - which you bolt or weld onto the frame - and top handlebar mount which position the damper correctly for any specific application.

These parts run around $140...
I agree with Bob that this is not the first $400 or so to spend on handling. Spring rate and valving for your weight, speed etc. are the priority. Also don't use a damper to overcome chronic set-up problems like headshake. But if you are going to go fast off-road and want an insurance policy against an unexpected hit - these do work.
