Well, first of all, it doesn't take any balls to ride those pigs because they are not that fast. Secondly those motors are not known to be very reliable or long lasting. And lastly, you will need a 07 or newer Suzuki 250 for a AF conversion because they didn't make any aluminum frames before that. In fact they were really made by Kawasaki, that's why both bikes are identicle.

Why is this in the A/F's only section?

I think he was saying someone should buy that engine and do an conversion with it.

I don't know why you would go to the trouble to do a conversion with a motor thats unreliable in stock form. A cr500 is bulletproof when properly maintained and requires no mods or additional money to make it that way.
Seems like a lot of work to end up with something thats less reliable or cost more initially to be made reliable. All that and still not make any more power or be any better than a CR conversion other than being different I guess :?

I love my cr , but these bikes run so damn good you don't get to tinker with them much.
A suzukizilla would require a lot of tinkering
I'm sure it would be a hoot to ride; it's got a countershaft so it should be pretty smooth.

So do CR and KX500s. What it does have that they don't is a counterbalancer

On paper the LT500 sounds like it's got the most advanced up to date two stroke motor. Funny then how it's liquid cooled, powervavled, counterbalanced, plated bore, five speed motor performs a decade short of the CR500. I beleive some of the Honda's magic is in fact it's simplicity.

I've ridden the Quadzilla's quite a bit. And they're fun...for an ATV. The LT500 cannot run head to head with a CR or KX500. Maybe a well modded one? But really, it weighs twice as much and makes less power. It just can't be evenly compared to our half liter bikes.

It's hard to compare a motor in a 350? quad with the same motor in a bike.

Not hard. There just isn't ANY comparison between quads and bikes. But you can compare engines to engines. In any case the CR500 kills the Quadzilla's 499cc motor.
