Getting to the motor and the cylinder looks pretty dam nice, can still see the factory cross hatch pattern. I know it need a little updating on the ports but it looks as if this on is pretty fresh. Open to others opinion?

Here's the piston that came out, I have a fresh replacement.

It need a honed for sure, doesn't need a bore(I don't think atleast) and some port area work - ehaust bridge relief, etc. - what else?

Cheers
Chris

Did you order the piston yet? If not I would order one the next size up and have it bored to match.

Now you are talking...

Always spend as much as you can afford especially if you are already going to have the motor apart. Its better to ride then wrench...
