I just got my PWK. Its from a sled
has a 90 degree inlet nipple, can this be changed to a straight or rotated up? It currently points out and back .
Its missing the choke, can the one from the PJ be used?

It has a 172 main
R1369-G needle
40 pilot

1.8 inlet

What all needs to be changed to get in the ball park?

Get the choke from sudco or CPW. Its different off a pj because the idle adjustment is different. I would probably toss in a larger pilot, but that combo should run well enough for you to figure out which direction to go from there.

thanks for the quick response.
Any suggestions about the 90 degree fuel nipple?

better check what slide that thing has in it. 6.0 is the slide you want. depending where the sled was originally from, good chance it was tuned for fairly high elevations and i doubt it has that slide. you might get lucky though

In the little recessed area at the bottom of the slide were the needle protrudes, there is the special K with a 6

I believe you will also need to change something in the area of the float needle and seat too.Sleds use a fuel pump where the bike carbs are gravity fed meaning the sleds carbs are somewhat restricted in letting fuel to the float.Take the floats out of both carbs and check the diameter of the needle and seat to make sure it looks like your pj's does before you put it all back together.
I know swaping a Mikuni from a sled to a bike will yield a "no run" condition because of this restriction.

I ordered some parts from Sudco.com
They told me that there are no optional needle valve sizes.
They also told me they dont deal with sled carbs only bike carbs so they have no idea if the needle valve is sized differently. So I ordered the one they have for the bikes. It was only $14. When I get I will post what size it is.

the oem honds #s are like r1368n or r1472n and the keihin # which are also what sudco goes by are cgj or dgn, etc. the 1472 is a dgn which is what most guys had found to run right. It is what I run. But the needle hole might be different on the sled carb. If I were you, I'd try the stocker, and if it isn't even close, I'm buy a proper bike pwk, I got mine for $60 used off a kx500.

I was referring to the needle valve not the needle jet.
The needle jet for this carb is a R1369-G

Bastard just sent the needle and not the seat.
Well now I have to pull the PJ and rob her for parts
