Running two stroke with no carb!

I've seen one run backwards cause the timing was off but.....
Sure enough the wifes quad tried to start but died. Changed the plug, nothing, checked spark, good. Ok I guess I got sometime pluged in the carb after changing the pilot jet. Take it off, for kicks and grins, I turn the motor over to look at the piston skirt. Call it habit from 500 ownership. There's no reed valve on this motor. Crank it a little more and shes running.
I'm like WTF. I can't control the throttle cause its on the work bench and the motors running away. Turned it off. Start it again same thing.
Do it one more time, this time shutting it off it back fires a little. Ever see a fame come out from under the piston.
Try to start it again nothing. Ok cool.
Lastnight there was a small pool of carb cleaner at the piston skirt so I guess it finally seeped passed and was laying on the bottom. Put the carb on, runs great.
I just had to get this one out.
