Nearly finished

Couple of small jobs to finish off such as airbox, fork lowering, correct front fende, handguardsr and chain split link(anyone have a spare) but the CR500AF lives.

After fitting the motor once it had to be removed for a crankcase oil leak which is now sorted. The lotor runs sweet as a nut.
I haven't had chance to rip it up the road yet as my new chain didn't come with a split link:(

Still, none too shabby eh:)

It also had a deep cut in each main frame spar caused by plastics rubbing, which my welder filled and you can barely tell

It's actually an 03 frame with newer tank/shrouds

It's finally finished.
Took it out for it's first test ride today and omg it's quick :o
I thought my SXV550 was a handful but this thing knocks it for six.
How world class mxers ride these for 40 plus minutes is beyond me
Entered into it's first event on Saturday(sprint hillclimb) so I hope it's bolted together properly

Very nice. What did you do for the headstay? Did you have to run the front brake line like that because of the tire?

Don't have any pics of the headstay at the moment but basically made up some brackets out of 8mm plate that come out of each side of the head mount.
Put some nut inserts direct into the back of the main frame spars and bolted the brackets straight into them. It also gave me somewhere to bolt the coil to.
Yes brakeline needs to run outside as there's no room with that width tyre

Very cool could you post some pic's when you get a chance and is that a overflow on the back of your radiator?

Yeah, will post some pics when I next take the tank off.
Yes, it is an overflow tank.

For the airbox, I plated the front of the airbox and left a 62mm outlet spout, then bought a pair of fork gaiters for RWU forks, cut off the end which has air holes and used that between carb and airbox..works a treat
