the cases are damaged and I asked him specifically if there was any damage..... I think I can repair it, but its the principal... plus I don't think he packed it very well which is why I am still having UPS drama. I am trying to get insurance money out of ups because the cases got damaged from banging against the jug which was sitting next to the motor in the box in a bath of foam peanuts  Luckly all of the damage, both internal from his blow up and shipping happened to teh stator side case, so I am shopping arouns for a replacement case half.
I don't have any pics of the piston frag damage, but I took some shots for ups

I think that was the motor that he broke the piston in.

Did the inlet get broke off of the water pump in shipping too? that front mount hole looks pretty bad too. I'm sorry but I've never understood why people think that packing peanuts will protect something that heavy during shipping. It would have taken 15 min. and some scrap lumber make a small crate or at least a platform to strap and ship that motor on. As expensive as cr500 parts are getting it would have been worth the time.

At least you had insurance hope you can get something out of UPS on the deal Danny.

The guy who sold me my 86' bottom end on ebay put it inside a pillow case threw it in a cardboard box and slapped my address on it.
I can't believe that it made it to my place in one piece.

ya, I haven't talked to him since UPS lost it becase the label came off/was damaged.
the water outlet did break off in shipping, but that front mount is the worst! I don't even know how I would repair that, other than grind it off and shim like an inch

well, UPS is being cool, and I'm gonna sent them pics tonight. See, I have an advantage there because they repacked it when they found it w/o a label, and so they threw everything in there all willie nillie, when there was some cardboard in there that I think jay may have wrapped the stuff in. I'm not really pissed at jay about the packing, more about the case damage from the piston frag.

At least UPS is trying to help you out, hopefully their $$$ will cover a case half.

Does it look like Jay split the cases to check for damage at all? He might've thought since there weren't pieces coming out of the bottom it was fine, not bothering to inspect it.

Either way it's a bit of a raw deal, he either lied or was just ignorant about it...

i dont know the details of BIG J and his aleged schemes so i wont comment on that. but the broken motor mount and flywheel piece looks to be the fault of UPS for sure. with a welder they could be fixed from what i can see but maybe try to get money from UPS and buy some new stuff. sorry for the misfortune dude. i know how you feel, some guy from florida hosed me on some plastic and im still looking for him

the pic doesn't show it very clearly, but in person it is very obvious and the peices are actually pushing out some...

Hope this all works out!
If I were Danny I would be pissed, not all of that damage could have come from UPS.

Yeah and if he would have took 15 min to grab some scrap lumber and a little wire you could have made a platform or crate to hold everything in place for shipping. Packing peanuts and cardboard are never going to protect something as heavy as a bottom end and cylinder.

Theres allot of ( out of work) dudes in Oakdale who, for a small fee, will "visit" Ol' Jay for us.....

Jay will make this right.

If you guys need to ship a motor, buy a 15$ cooler from walmart, put the motor in and screw it shut with wood screws.
It will arrive safe and sound every time!

well, if he bolted the jug on the bottomend this probably wouldn't have happened at all, all the damage was from the jug and bottomend slamming into eachother. I e-mailed him, haven't had a response.

did he 'move up' to a quad?

that packing job is bs. it is no way ups's fault. and to be honest if i was ups and saw that i woundnt give back a dime. carboard box+65lbs motor+ busted shit. the person who packaged it should pay for the replacement not ther shippers customers. the "packager" is a ass clown. period. that just pisses me off. fucking retards
