vertex...0.0????

what is the piston clearance supposed to be on a vertex piston? it came with no instructions. same as wiseco or is cast different?

Same as oem, somewhere between 0.002" to 0.0025", depending on how accurate your machine shop is....

If I remember correctly the instructions with my vertex said 28 for 500cc applications.

ive got it at 0.003 rigt now but feels way too tight by hand, i think ill open it up to 12- 15 what do you think? too much?

Mine was 0.00225" 4 years ago.
No blow by.
No squeek.
No issues.

ya but you run good oil and know jetting, the factory will alway quote a safe for all number

Factory spec is 0.0027" to 0.0035"

i already relieved the bridge, i have 9 days till widowmaker and dont have it together yet. my crank seals and oil seals just came in tonite so i can have the thing ready to bolt in by this time tomorrow. i just got my swingarm back from being extended and it is nice! 65-3/4 " axle to axle fully extended. ill post pics when i have it all together. its at the last bore so i need it to just last 2 or three good hard runs, then it gets a glen'ed jug.
