fork/shock seal replacement?

Post by 100hp honda »

my seals are leaking. on the forks, i seen the parts fishe and see the dust seal and right behind it the oil seal- i havent taken the forks completely apart but is there any special tools to get them apart to replace those seals ?

the rear shock is leaking oil out the shaft. ive never taken one apart, is there any special tools required to replace the seal so oil wont leak out the shaft ? any special tricks ? will the nitrogen explode in my face ?

im not the smartest guy but if someone with experience gives me pointers i can figure it out. thnx

If you are talking about a steely, the only thing special you'll need is a seal driver. I made one out of a piece of PVC. Did the job just peachy.

These instructions are not the same as for a steely, but the steely's are actually easier.

The first one took me all day. I did it without instructions. The second one took me 45 minutes. (I'm a very slow mechanic)
