Pissed off

Tore my '97 down to the frame, lots of mods and partial rebuild, etc. Won 2 sweet radiators off of E-bay last week, while I am at Ft. Knox, KY with my National Guard unit preparing to go to Afghanistan. I paid $60 for one and $9.00 for the other, same seller so he combined shipping, nice! Pay pal, blah, blah, blah...UPS man leaves a note on the door that they arrived, wife gets home and no box on the porch. She calls UPS, driver shows her where he put the box. Some asshole stole those fuckers from right off my front porch! Whoever got 'em prolly doesn't even know what they are so chances are they will end up in some dumpster. I am still a little pissed off :x .

Say What? UPS doesn't leave notes. I have ups deliveries alot and have my whole life, and they never leave a note. Sounds fishy to me.

They are called door tags.. They are supposed to leave them if they attempted delivery and you werent home.. after 2 or 3 delivery attempts it gets taken off the truck and the final "NOTE" says you can come pick it up from the ups hub and if you dont within a certain amount of time it will be Returned to Sender

That's different. He said the ups man delivered the package AND left a note. I'm not buying it. Why would the ups man leave the package and a note saying he left the package? Think about it.

It was FedEx, but the door tag has the box checked that they delivered it to the front door. I guess I don't get too many FedEx deliveries but it sure seems like alot of work to complete a door tag each time they deliver something - now you guys have got me thinking....hmmm....

i was going to say, i got 100 UPS deliveries and never any notes. they left my package whether i was home or not....if your not home, usually they hide the package in the weeds, under a vehicle, behind airconditioner, behind the garage etc. if it was left in plane site, probly should go kick the driver in the nuts

I just got dicked by UPS  they "lost" an entire cr500 motor :x I just don't understand how a 61lb package goes into the sacramento hub and never comes out! My best guess is it went into and employees car and is long gone!
guys keep an eye out on ebay and CL for a '90 motor with some over spray on it in the sacramento area!

ya, and I totally screwed up and only insured it for $300, when I paid bigjay $350 for the bottomend needing a crank rebuild, a rod kit, a jug at .25 overbore, intake and exhaust manifold, and he included a throttle housing! A package way over the $300 value!
From now on I'm going to insure packages for double! :x

Oh well, I'm watching a '92 bottomend on ebay right now, it ends in a couple days, I hope no one beats me to it!

actually, I guess I got some good luck! I just checked the tracking and it says it was found in SLC with the label messed up!!! It'll be here tuesday!
Last time I spoke to them, the ups guy was getting ready to cut me that $300 check, but I had a nice little chat where I explained how that money couldn't even come close to replacing it and how I didn't understand how it could just be lost. Like an envelope could blow away when you open the bay doors, but a motorcycle engine doesn't fall between some cracks!
so finally he fessed up and said they could do a more thurough search, so I asked him to do that. Turns out they found it the same day just didn't call me
looks like it is easier for them to send out an insurance check than to actually look for it :x
so, let this be a lesson for everyone; 1, always include a second copy of the label in the box (which I have always done) 2, always insure for more than it is actually worth
