what would be a good gearing for the street. 91 motor. very rare short blast to 85 or so. be able to sit at around 55\60 without strain and raise serious hell in town. thanks

for those close ratio gears, I would definitly run taller than 14/45, hoofarted runs that same gearing on his '92 that he only rides in the dirt and my '86 with the wide ratio on 14/49 could walk all over it as far as topend is conserned.
I would run 15/45 minimum, probably seriously like 15/40, you don't need much out of first to get going on the street.

just got off the horn with renthal and 43 is the smallest the us imports. they do make down to a 38 as per there website. western powersports is the only one who imports the 43. so im thinking 15 43 on a 91 motor should be ok. who id duane?

15/43 sounds good!
DeWayne is in the approved vendor section. Hes a kickass builder and a racer, here is a nice racing shot I've got of him

A 35t is the smallest that will fit the hub..

Sprocket specialties will have what you need..

1 more tooth at the counter shaft is worth about 3 less on the rear sprocket. Go up at the front first, because larger sprockets stress the chain less. Try out this gearing calculator. You should be able to get all the variables from the Honda manual. My Husky is geared to run 70-80 mph around 6,500 rpm.

I run 14/40 on my supermoto. You can still run the chain guard up front and hit good speeds on the top.
