I used to have 2 bala sharks, 1 jack dempsy, 2 african ciclids, 1 oscar and 2 piranah.
The piranah ate the ciclids and the oscar then each other, one bala shark died about a year ago (at 7 yrs old) then day before yesterday the other bala shark dies (8 yrs old).
I now have a 55 gallon tank with a jack dempsy and a parrot fish
If I go buy new fish im looking at another 7 yrs at least

Man you like those aggressive fish, I'm surprised the bala sharks lastest as long as they did with that tank full of hate.
My tank is cozy friendly, two bala sharks, two silver dollars, and an algae eater.

It was a trip, the bala sharks are supposed to last max 3 years in a tank and they almost tripled that! The agressive fish never messed with 'em.

I have a 55 with a bala a plecostumas and a huge Pacu. The Pacu eats everything...even 23 goldfish in one night!......but he has never ever bothered that little bala? Now my bala is finally starting to grow.
