but if the 86 and 87's had the most power, and the 13 and ups had the best transmissions, clutches, and water outlets, couldn't you make a hybred engine out of a 86/87 jug/ head and a 93 and up case? I remember seeing something about a deck height difference, but couldn't that be fixed with some machining? Sorry if this is stating the obvious or if it is so impossible it is stupid to even ask.

well most likely im wrong but yes take a 93 and up bottom end and 86 only (i think) jug and bamb. you will however need a 86 rod too because the rod on a 86 is 5mm shorter than 87 and up. the problem is findin a 86 rod. this is why guys that have 86 motors that need new rods or jugs get a new jug and later rods have to space up the jug with a 5mm spacer.
