I jumped in the back of my Dad's truck to go to the Supercross on Saturday night and he said to check out the Cycle News on the seat. Our mechanic at Malcolm Smith has had it filed away for quite awhile at his house.

I am looking for as much history as I can about our sport.
We owe allot to Hillclimbing , as it was the first " Professional" form of Motorcycle Competition. Our new brother, BSmith, is going to post his amazing collection of photos and stories in this thread.
Names, dates, first events etc... The beginning is the most important along with Carnegie's but all will be appriciated
thnks

Thats the bike I copied to make my Twin CR. The rider is Jean Claude Anere and the photo is from Arette. One motor is actually a 540.
Sweet bike for its time.

I've heard about this climb for awhile down here in So Cal over the years and I found a little info on it. Est. in 1915, the climb was claimed to be the one of the century, with the best riders in the world and 35,000 spectators. Unfortunately the 405 freeway goes through the site of where the climb use to be.
Great article.
