I guess the 30 shot killed her :( , I pulled the head to replace the gasket and figured Id check the reeds (which are toast).

I pulled the reed cage and thought I was looking at a cast piston......

i have a cracked wiseco on my desk, looks almost like the big crack on yours. that piston had over 3 years on it when i took it out. right next to it i have the piston that replaced it, seized it in under 4 hours.

that cylinder was brand new, get a new standard size slug and throw back in there. be interesting to know what causes it. bike was jetted good from the pics. 30 shot is pushing the envelope, they say never exceed %50 NO2 of what the motor puts out in HP. i know Pstofers uses 45shot or something but i think you held the button too long maybe

glen howell wrote:Better yet just come over and stay a coupla hours and while your standing here I'll fix it!! Glen P/S PM me before you come.

The cross hatching has completly gone from the bore in places and for the sake of $70 im gonna have you re-bore it.

When I come down to yours I'll bring the bike so you can personally check out the rod, it looks fine to me tho.

I figure its had around 35 gal of VP through her and about 22lb of nitrous.

Its probably gonna be a month or so before I can get the funds together to get her done.

bad reeds can cause some messed up problems. I had some bad reeds which caused intermitten lean, then rich conditions because of turbulance in the carb. now, why did you pull out those vforce reeds?

I wasnt to sure about the carbon fiber and plastic cage holding up to freezing spray, also the Vforce seems to be more of a bottom end reed.

They might be going in this time

how can you tell if your reeds are bad?
if you can see a gap between the housing and the reeds, or if they are chipped. if in question, replace them. I am a big fan of vforce reeds, they kick ass and last a really long time because the petals don't have to flex as much. the opening is larger on them to, if you grind up the inside of your intake boot to match a vforce inlet, you can get quite a bit more flow out of that area.

dewayne says he runs them with nitrous without probs, although he prefers to run the nitrous jets in the transfers... he said its all about positioning, but be didn't want to tell me more... damn secrets!
