Having to stand next to the phone because it had a cord connecting it to the receiver.

Years ago I listened on an Akai reel to reel.

I still have my 77- 78 era Sansui flag ship Quad tuner/reciever, dam thing weights a good 80 lbs., real teak wood finish, Still have about 20 quad records. In stereo setting it still sounds better then most digital crap.
