blah blah blah who gives a rat's ass if Glamis is better then Dumont or vise versa. There both just big ass litter boxes. If you want to ride, ride where men ride in the desert, where the terrain can change around every corner. Now that's riding.

rant over.

I ride some nasty desert shit half the year and the dunes the other half... I think the dunes are more fun (big dunes that is, none of these rolling hills like glamis has). But I can get tired of the dunes, then its desert time again!

Glamis is the best place - I have ridden the OPEN desert there is no place that can challenge any rider more than glamis I have been riding the hard pack and glamis since 1985.

You never know what comes around the next corner - Glamis is a very dynamic place to ride and it suits the CR500 well - as it dominates in all aspects and you are never bored with the terrain. Yes there is sand to be eaten - if you find yourself not being able to get away from the monster Viper 12 paddle (spining like a banshee powered by a nice ported CR5 Jug) at the top of some hill.We are kind riders and try not to cover each other with sand when at all possible.

Not to mention seeing all the nice machines that go there - fun place still

Sand Box?? I'll ride there any day

Just my op...we all have one

At our pathetic excuse for sand dunes here in Michigan, the dunes themselves change dramatically over the course of the day, if there's even a hint of steady wind. A 15mph breeze off Lake Michigan is enough to sharpen the peaks of dunes in a matter of hours, and will catch you off guard if you're not paying attention.

I love the sand. I hated the first time I tried riding in it (also the first time on a dirt bike ever), but I got over that in a hurry...

Yeah but I don't think it's the same type of sand. The sand out at the ranch is really grainy and get's really tacky once you get thru the top layer. I have no problem riding in sand it just seems like the dunes are a little to repititous to me unlike the desert where around every turn can be different types of terrain.
