I found a heck of a deal on a 2001 CR125. What generation would this be considered? How much more work am I looking at over a gen1 250, or can it even be done in this frame? Any input would be great. Thanks guys.

that would be a gen. two...but I would caution you from going that way....it involves far too much fabrication in my opinion. better to find a good 250, regardless the generation. Just my .019999 worth.

a gen. two will handle better than a gen. one, but the gen. one is a slam-dunk easy conversion...much less fabrication/modification to the frame than a gen. two.

This is the same chassis I'm gonna use. Just got the bike and am looking forward to the conversion.

Shanmans right of course, however if I were to do that I would plan on redoing the whole cratel from the Y back to the foot pegs.
