See Slow Old Farts pictures (aka moretorque)

Post by conrod »

If you want to see some pictures of Slow Old Farts bikes (AKA Moretorque else where) give some +1 +2 posts etc and lets see how many people on this board would like to see some credible proof of how much of a CR500AF expert this guy is.

Constant contradictions from him and he’s supposed to have built more than 4 AF’s and not a picture of any of them, hell if I had the savvy to build just one of those bikes I could not wait to post pictures and details.

Come on old fart, lets see the brown duct tape on the air box and how about the RM250 job etc. Or will we have to conclude you are full of shit and always have been.

No excuses if you cant post them send them to bob, if you’ve lost your camera and have not got another one for over 4 years then you are full of shit, full stop.

Get Frank Thomas to take some up to date pictures for you.

Someone get us started with a +1

for those not in-the-know about MoreTorque and his checkered past:

About four years ago, before there was CR500riders.com or this site, the only haven for 500 hoons was Larry's CR500 site. On that site, MT was a bull in a china shop, and let's just say his style of posting was even rougher around the edges than now. He apparently had a great deal of fun by ripping others on the site.

I happened to stumble on the site and almost immediately turned my other CR500 friends Tracy and John (the owner and creator of CR500riders) on to the site. Pretty soon, Tracy started to engage in a few of these exchanges, which often included our good buddy AlisoBob by the way. Soon, Tracy was threatening that if Larry didn't clean up and moderate his site, he woulds create a better, kinder, gentler site where CR500 riding folks could exchange ideas and thoughts without having MT and others go off on them while spouting their CR500 knowledge superiority. Larry didn't.....Tracy did, and CR500riders was borne.

Most of you kind of know the rest, so I will skip any additional history lessons. One thing though; Moretorque is saying the same things now regarding AF's that he was saying back in the day. While that doesn't necessarily prove ownership of so many scooters, it does prove that he has been in the CR500 game for a long time, and if you are willing to sift through the sometimes-sketchy grammar, he has much knowledge to share with others.

I Got a video cam, I just got so when I get it going I will take you all on a fartin tour.

You can have a tour of some of the street bikes I bought on the VTX forum. Under VTX 1300. The Old stumper has a picture of one of my AF's and Dredge has riden 2 of them.

Bob some of the people on this site know alot and some other's don't ! Which is fine you should be able to tell by my posting I know a thing or 2 about these bikes. Pictures are for kids. I know I beatoff to them all the time!

Come on, give the guy a break. He has nothing better to do than sit at home all day and rant on forums.

Noooo, but they are worth 1,000 words!

Just think of your "word count" per post if you gave us some eye candy...

Actually I only belong to a few forums. I was booted off the VTX forum for telling a guy triking his VTX 1300 was a waste of money.

I lasted about 2 weeks there, it was a bunch of JAR heads on that site.

What's wrong with "Jar Heads"? "You want some come get some!" hahaha

Slow and I had a nice conversation this morning let's just say we came to mutual terms and understanding of each other...

Wouldn't you agree Slow?

I agree he makes the best bikes I have seen.

He is building more so he will get a handle on whats what. Iam not just talking about Honda here but kawies and so forth. I would put a CR5 in a kawie if the kawie worked better for me but kawie quality metal wise has been known to be inferior to Honda.

He claims the 125 is a great package.

It seems to me that if you were to run a steeper offset on a 250 CR it would handle just like a CR 125. Aren't the 125 and CR 250 essentionaly the same chasses with diffrent cradle and head angle?

The Gen 1 450 is totally different so there is no way you can ever make a gen 1 450 handle like a CR 250 or 125. it seems you can make them handle the same with different steering offset?

This is the thing people do not realize I have so much of this junk in the garage and have looked and I mean looked it all over. I just traded my CRF250R away but before I did I checked it out compared it to my GEN 4 450.

I have alot of parts from different years and on the CRF n CR's after 02 they use all the same components attached to the chasses. They are the same and interchange out. The part numbers may be different because a different screw hole but they are the same.

People do not realize the only difference is suspension setup slight frame geometry slight linkage changes and ergos.

I can take a subframe seat frame tank from and some plastic from a gen 3 250. Take either of my CRF gen 4 or gen 3 strip it to the bone and put all the parts on the CR 250 gen 3 and it will work perfectly. you may need to make some suspension changes but other than that the stuff is all the same!

So when people say this is better than that they do not realize the bikes really are the same with slight changes to the frame and tuning is the key. but some are easier to tune than others because the frame works better for that application or your stature.
