Alright, those that have a big tv, what do you have, is it good, and how much was it? I am looking at the Sharp Aquos 52" lcd, the Samsung, and the Sony.

Just bought a Vizio 47" LCD, 1080p. $1800 with the extended warranty and I couldn't be happier.

I've got a 43" Toshiba projection as my main tv. It's about 10 years old, and the freeking thing won't quit working. I really want it to, so I can then upgrade without feeling guilty.

Oh yeah, it was about $1800 back then.

I wonder is a extended warrantee needed for the new lcd's? I have been told that they are 20 year machines, and that anything that goes wrong will go wrong right away. I also heard they have a smart chip that works like a breaker and will pop before anything major is allowed to go bad. I have never had a tv bigger than 35"s and feel a new one of these big flat wall mounted jobs will be a fun item.

I never buy an extended warranty for anything, but I never buy the cheap brand of anything either, and I've never had a problem. So, do your research. Both of my brothers, and my parents have Samsungs like this:

One of my brothers had problems with his within a couple of months. My other brothers, and parents have been fine. They all have HDTV from Dish Network (not all channels are HD), and I really don't think that the picture quality is all that great.
So, my point is, go to a store and watch them all. The best I've seen personally, are made by Pioneer and Mitsubishi. Both were very expensive.
I still think rear projection has a better picture, too. Of course they take up a bit more room, and you can't hang them.

X2. Not the cheapest, but a solid company to deal with.
