engine question

I took the reed cage out just to see what it looks like in there. what is the allowable play on the rod. at the crank how much can it move from side to side. not up and down. also where can I get a complete rebuild manual for these motors? I wanta be familiar with it. thanks guys

Side to side is completly normal and nothing to worry about, up and down play should be ZERO no ifs ands or buts.
I think someone made a CD of the manual

not sure what year your motor is, but they changed very little. If your motor is an '89 or older use the first, or '90 and newer use the second.

thats on my hosting space for my work. it works fine. you might just have trouble with opening it. right click on it and save target as, then open it.

Excellent links Danny!
I bought a Haynes manual just after I bought my 5hundy.
It covers all cr models (125, 250 & 500) from 1985 through to 2001 and I'm constantly jumping from section to section looking for the relevant pages for the 500.
The genuine Honda workshop manual is LOADS better!
BRILLIANT!!!!
