You will need new jets and a needle, the ones in there are all wrong.

started it with the jets it came with.... DGH needle in the 3rd, 60 pilot, 160 main

Hard to start and wouldn't idle but didn't have high expectations on that set up. Put in a 1368 in the 3rd, 55 pilot and 178 main and started better but still is a little snappy, seems lean still. These are close to the settings I saw from AJ on how the SH are set up. My motor is ported and blah blah blah. Going to leave the pilot alone now and work on the needle. I have a DGK(1469), DGH(1467?), DGG(1466), CGL(1368 in it now), CGK(1369) and a CGL(1370) What do you think? No magic needle :( I am thinking I need to get into the D(14) needles but this is where I spend too much time thinking and not riding. Going to 3800ft tomorrow and it's going to be cold. I really don't want to do anything except ride tomorrow so close will work. Going to get lunch and hopefully someone will have a comment and/or answer so I can get on this. Thanks

dont know this will help but...my ported bike last year ran well with this combination at glamis- 70 degrees. pwk-DEJ middle clip, 45 or 48 pilot cant remeber, 190 main. for what its worth, i messed with my PWK quit a bit, and it wouldnt run down low or idle with anything other than 45/ 48 pilot. everyone told me the PWK uses a smaller pilot, i was skeptical then i found out for my self

the more i think about it, the more i think there will be 100 variables on your carb set up, versus what i was using. my shit had roughly .080-.100 shaved off the head, re-shaped dome, straight c12, tall exhaust ports- top end port job, squish was probly .040- versus .080 on a stock head, i may have dinked around with the timing also i cant really remeber. blah blah blah. im not sure how this will coincide with what you have

If I ever get one of those I would start with;
48 pilot
DGJ = 1468, however this motor needs an EGJ for the winter EEH summer.
172 main

Good luck and let us know what you settle with.

That one pictured is a pwk air striker.

The carb I got isn't a AS, just a standard 39mm. It's nice though. Last night I finished tinkering and ended up with 52 pilot, 1469 3rd, 178 main( could use more I believe) and a/s 1.25 out. Starts good and idles fiine. So far so good, ride report to follow. I am out of here, going to Dogtown which from what I here is closing :shock: :shock: Thid is by far my favorite around here and really bumms me out

I think if you drop that pilot slightly more, your going to be right there.
