Had my cr lock up on me yesterday. 5.4 hrs on rebuild (3 hrs from me and the rest from previous owner). Lectron carb; 32:1, not a hot day.. It freed up after a couple minutes; took a ride in the back of the truck

Not sure where to start; relatively new to 500's!

You are starting with a tear down of your top end, most likely getting it rebuilt again, this time making sure all machining is done correct. Machining needs to be done with a torque plate, exhaust bridge needs to be relieved, machine work should be done to your piston specs and piston should be provided before final hone as variances can cause issue.

Now that we have that worked out and you put the whole thing together with a quality gasket kit like Cometic we can move on to jetting, jetting must be correct as well or you will squeak the motor. If all of this is correct you will be rewarded with a powerful reliable motorcycle.

Rad hose slightly pinched I see now that it is apart.
Any hose kits available that are a good starting point? Hoses that are on it now need replacement.

Reasonably priced rad recommendations?
