Hey guys, I am in the process of getting Billy's bike back together and figured I should ask some questions before I start. Here goes:

1) Will the engine fit into the frame without having to pull the jug or at the very least, the head and exhaust flange?

2) If the answer is no to no. one, can the jug be reinstalled in the frame with the motor hard mounted or does it need to be rotated rearward first?

Answers to these questions will have Billy's bike making roost and spooge in no time....thanks in advance!

I have had mine in and out a few times with the jug on it still, no exhaust flange. I lay it on it's side and rotate it into position from the left. It takes a little patience, but it will go in just fine.

I can get mine in and out with the jug on from the right side.

2. If the studs are removed from the jug.

While mocking it up, I had the whole engine in / out a few times..

for future Gen. 3 build reference. I got the engine in, but there is some disassembly required:

1) remove the carb

2) remove the kickstart lever

3) remove the shift lever

4) remove the head (jug stay on)

5) remove the exhaust flange

Doing this gives you plenty of room, and takes very little effort from a wrenching perspective. It will keep the scratches and busted knuckles to a minimum.
