Two bikes.

Mine.......1999, first over, fmf gnarly, pc silencer, 14/49 gearing, racetech suspension re-sprung for my weight.

My buds...1997, first over, fmf gnarly, pc silencer, 13/47 gearing,
eric gore job, flywheel weight, stock suspension.

I spent some time ripping both around some smaller dunes today, and I could ride his much faster and it didnt have me working as hard as when Im on my bike.

Ive got an m5b on the rear and he has some crappy hard terrain tire on the back, but his bike seems to get better traction.

My bike has more punch and taller gearing, and spins the rear much easier than his bike, thus wasting power. I want to hook up better.

I realize that the Eric Gorr job kills some low end, tire spinning punch, but is the real helper here his flywheel weight ??

Your bike sounds like it's set up pretty good for a fun day of riding. A 50 tooth and a 12 paddle and it would be just right for duning then add porting and race gas, and you would have my setup. The other bike sounds wrong to me. A 13 tooth, then a tall rear gear? Whatever floats his boat I guess. Anyway if you want a nice weighted flywheel pm me and I'll consider selling one to you that I don't use.

I found 15/49 on a 10 cup paddle is more than enough for me.. I really like the combo as im not shifting as much as i was with the 15/45.. and still have plenty of nutz to up and go.. when needed.
