94 CR500 has no spark

My nephews 500 does not have any spark. it was running fine and then just died. He changed the plug thinking it was a fouled plug and still nothing. checked and had no sparky. the kill switch is disconnected and all the grounds are good. so just looking for ideas for him to look at and check.

Assuming you have a 5hundy, start swapping parts, coil, CDI, stator.
first I'd pull the plug, give a good kick in the dark to see if there's no spark or week spark.

Remove the spark plug cap from the wire, cut the wire like 1/8" and screw the cap back on it, tou can do it on the coil side too. Maybe the connection isn,t good there...

Or you can try to close the air gap between the pickup coil and the flywheel.
