MRE #15, 2009 CRF450 Gen5

Post by Roostius_Maximus »

I bought this bike a year ago next week, it showed on cr500riders in the classifieds from Alabama.
Every case was broken, even the clutch cover. Valve cover was good  ;D
Like usual I've collected information from other builds and had some very helpful input from many hoons, thanks guys!

I made the CDI, fuel tap, coil mounts, head stays, front and lower mounts, airbox adaptor and well everything else really except the Y piece which was from solidbro on a horsetrading deal.

Its ready, its raining out, here are some pics from friday morning when i almost had time to start it before taking tristan to meet the school bus  ::).

Its pulse injected on a 38mm pwm, programable Dynatek 4 map ignition i had on the shelf, new cr250/450 hinson clutch components, bridgeless 90.50mm cyl, coolhead.

The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...
