I found this picture of a conversion someone did online (it is a 250 2-stroke conversion) Does anyone know what frame this Y is from?

It is a Gen 5 Frame, but that is not the Y from a Gen 5... I am building a Gen 5 conversion like this, but I need to know what that Y is off of so I can get it...Roostius_Maximus wrote:it looks to be a gen5 250f chassis and the factory Y
That is what I wanted, But I am doing a 250 conversion and all the Billet Y's out there are for 500... I wanted to design one and have it made, but can't find a machinist to make it...Roostius_Maximus wrote:Willing to settle for a billet one?

Thank You for your reply. Here is a picture of the Y on my 2012 CRF250R (Gen 5) It doesn't look the same to me...mxdogger wrote:I'm positive that is a gen 5 y, I'm re-using 1 now on a customer build. It's a pita on a 500 because the motor is taller than the cr250 so more of the y has to be cut away as well as the downtube for the 500 motor, looks like a billet y is in order for the 500 powerplant.
What do you do to the markings and the original mounts on the back of the Y, grind them off?hoofarted wrote:Looks the same to me, just relocated.
Yep. Along with new cradle/mounts welded back in.dayusmc wrote:What do you do to the markings and the original mounts on the back of the Y, grind them off?hoofarted wrote:Looks the same to me, just relocated.
That is exactly what i did, only i didn't cut the openings open on the sides where the cradle goes into the y.There is no need to as there is plenty of cleareance for the exuast on both sides of the cradle rails.hoofarted wrote:Yep. Well Im buying 2001 125 for my 500AF conversion, Its all I have money for, mostly worried about the swing arm mount the rest I feel confident about doing. Any body with experience please reply, info is scarce. I know exhaust, aircleaner, mounts and y need to move, but whatdayusmc wrote:I found this picture of a conversion someone did online (it is a 250 2-stroke conversion) Does anyone know what frame this Y is from?
