Hey guys, my names Jake I'm from CA. I'm an average Teenage Grease Monkey, I've rebuilt a 400ex and a couple other 4 strokes I'm pretty new to 2 stokes though. I've got an 86? I think CR500 motor, it it has V-Force Reeds, rebuilt topend with a wiesco piston, pretty heavy intake port for bottom end and midrange, sent the head in today for a decompression valve installation, J&R Answer Silencer, stock 38mm PJ carburetor with a UNI filter. Anyway I have a couple questions, I think my jetting is way off and I need to know what year the motor is. My Jetting is a 65 pilot with 190 main, stock needle with the clip on the second notch, stock slide and 2 turns out on the air screw. About sea level, 12% humidity, 94 degree average. Any advice or recommendations would be great! I have the Motor VIN : PEO2E5405076 if anyone can tell me what year it is that would be awesome.

Thanks alot, i thought I read something saying that the 85 had a 489cc motor and the 86 had a 491cc motor. Because mine says 491cc on the cylinder, maybe the cylinder is newer than the bottom end?

My 85 had 491 on the jug. I'm pretty certain they all do from 85 up.

After working on the 2 stroke, you will be asking yourself why didn't I do this sooner

Yeah, I don't know many kids my age or older that know a spark plug from a carburetor. When I get talking about my projects they think it's a foreign language, although I have one friend that's would like to learn a few things. So anyway anybody have any jetting recommendations? Every time I find a write up its about jetting with a PWK.
