need help understanding suspension on my 95 bike

I have not had to play much with my suspension in the past (I just rode as) my 95 cr500 seems good sometimes but then on a whoop type trail it seems springy like a pogo stick I know the shock is not blown I have rode those before..

I want to understand what each adjuster does on the shock and forks before I start playing. and what effects one has to the other.. right now it seems like my rear shock needs more compression and rebound to it if that makes sence.

so any help would be appreciated to understand what each clicker really does thanks Mike

check your resi gas charge, if it is not pushing the oil back where it belongs then it is the same as being blown out the seals.

Start with springs. Make sure you have the correct rate. This is 80% of the battle.

I understand I should set it up for my weight but I still want to understand what the clickers are doing and how it affects everything

Clickers are useless without proper springs. It's like trying to adjust the airscrew on your carb when your pilot is all wrong. It just doesn't work.

I get that.............. that is not what I am asking tho

as of right now I am going to make due with what I have I don't have enough to do the entire suspension now.

if I can make it 10% better at least it is a start
