Hey all,
Great forum!
I picked up my first 500 last Thanksgiving. I grew up on Hondas from about age 9 to 17 with a 1993 CR250 as my last bike. I'm 30 now and have a young son that I'm teaching to ride so I figured what the hell, I need a bike, why not a big block? Anyhow pics below and also a question on what you guys think on the top end. Bike is a 2000 and motor is a 1989. Compression check shows about 125psi but up to a max of 150 after a lot of kicks. Given that info and looking at what you can see for piston and bore condition, would you say a top end is order?
Thanks for looking,
Scott

Oh yeah its time for a top end for sure. Roostius Maximus does really good work and could hook you up. If you want to go with someone local make sure they have 500 experience and use a torque plate. Welcome to the site plenty of info here for you. I would definitely not ride that bike until you give that top end some love.
