A decision requiring hoon assistance; Cobra or GTO

Post by dannygraves »

been a while since I posted up here, but I know you guys can help me out with a decision...

2003-4 SVT Cobra or 2005-6 GTO????
I am looking at 2 cars locally and plan to take both for a spin tomorrow but wanted some opinions first.

The Cobra is owned by a friend of a friend who is a mechanic and has the usual basic boltons (cat back, x-pipe, SCT tuner rear diff bushings, etc.) and is clean with low miles.

The GTO looks clean but I know nothing about it until I check it out tomorrow or this weekend.

I am leaning towards the cobra. stock for stock the cobra is slightly faster looks and sounds meaner and the S/C whine is totally badass. The GTO on the other hand is more comfortable, better mileage and goddamn does an LS2 reving out sound good. I imagine the GTO will be more reliable being a N/A LS2 as well but I think the looks of the car drag it down.

On looks alone I would go with the cobra, the gto is a boring looking car but what a sleeper! I think reliabilty is pretty much the same between the two.

one vote Cobra

Being a big boy, I would have a hard time buying the Mustang because I don't fit well, but it would depend what I was using the car for. If I just wanted to roll to the store, slide around a few corners and make some ricers look stupid I'd go Mustang because it does look cooler. If I wanted a car to travel in and still blow off everything in town I'd be lookin at that GTO. All in all I have to say I'd probably be driving the GTO because I like being comfortable. That Mustang is sweet but has one of the most cramped floorpans around...seems like the 6 speed was an afterthought and they race clearenced the pan to fit it in there leaving no room for legs.

GTO

Rhino is right about the room. But your narrow ass can fit in an old mini-cooper and be comfortable. You're a Ford guy. And you're a boost-addict. I would do the Ford. GM's and their plastic intake manifolds...
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...

HAHAHA!
I seriously thought about a vette or a rx7 FD.
Since this is my divorce present to myself and I took primary custody I do infact need to be able to pick the kids up from day care. Piling both of them in the passenger seat won't work if I have some slut with me ;)

Sorry to hear about the divorce, you didn't say this needed to double as your pimp mobile, there is no way in hell I would buy that GTO if I was single....I thought you had the vag covered. If it's between those 2 it has to be the Cobra. I'm with Bob take a full upgrade and pick the kids up in the truck.

A Smokey and the Bandit Trans AM would bring sluts out of the woodwork. They might be your Moms age but they would certainly know their way around a set of cock and balls

Na, I dont need a car to help with that
I sold a pile of cars through my marrage and looking to have a fun car again. If I needed help with the ladies id probably just spend the money on a watch and go to any one of the nightclubs here in vegas flashing it.

Cobra. GTO's are sleepers, but they look like a god damn plain-jane sedan.
