A quick "How ya'Do", and a photo would be nice.

Lurker coming out

Post by cbrf23 »

Hi guys,

Been lurking awhile - reading up and prepping for a build.
I'm building a beercan supermoto from a 94 CR500 and 04 CRF250R.
Going for street legal ;)

Just got started on this project.
Plan on re-conditioning just about everything.
I want the finished product to be on par with new OEM, so we'll see how that goes ;)
Also, I've built a few street bikes, this is the first dirt bike I've worked on in about 10 years; super fun!
Its also my first forte inside an engine; neat!
I'll try to post lots of pics (and questions I'm sure) as I go.

A brief bit about me:
I'm 27 yrs old, I live in Northeast Ohio (East of Cleveland) about 15 minutes from where I grew up.
I went to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI (art school) where I majored in Industrial Design. I lived up there for about 6 years and did automotive design before I moved back home.
I'm currently employed as manufacturing engineer for a company that makes implantable medical devices (bone screws, plates, etc - bulk is spinal products, but we do some other fun stuff too)
I like designing things pretty much equally as much as I like building them, so I hope I can keep my project interesting and at times maybe even be a bit innovative.
I just finished remodeling a house - well almost finished, I still have some finish work like caulk and paint, and I want to run some more plugs in the basement and garage (can never have enough).
I like where I'm at, but I'd really like to try living out West somewhere.
No rush, see if it ever evolves into anything.

Thats a pretty solid intro I feel...

So yea, thanks to all who contribute to this great site, and cheers to making some new friends and learning some new things. :clink:
