Just rebuilt an 87 500. Is ther any way to make a better connection between the pipe and the header/manifold off the motor. Exhaust leaks out frOm that area.

This is what I've used,Atomic brand steel manifold.
Just replace the supplied o-rings with nirtrile o-rings and put a fat 0-ring
where the pipe butts up against the manifold to reduce metal on metal contact. No more leaks
