1995 Steelie rebuild

So, here are some pics of my 1995 CR500 rebuild:

There are some scratches on the piston at the intake side, i think those were coming from the piston / cylinder clearance of only 0,05mm (0,002")!?

Anybody knows something about this fork? Kayaba or Showa? :?:
The fork bleeder thread is 4mm, but KYB and SHOWA should be 5mm?!

Nothing to say about this "motor mounting bolt".... :lol:



Yesterday i've sent the cylinder to the netherlands for reboring and relieving the exhaust bridge, hope this guy knows what he is doing....


Which chain should i choose? O-Ring or a standard chain?


Hope i'll get it done in the next few weeks

Ordered several spare parts today

+Chain & sprockets

+Rear brake disc & pads

+New headstays and bolts to fix the "Nig-guyver" like repair of the
previous owner :x

+Some other small parts like bearings and seals


Hoping to get the frame sandblastet this weekend, so that i can reassamble the bike next weekend....

That piston looks great, why did you want to bore the cylinder?

on the intake side of the piston it looked like a little seizure
dont know why I didnt take a picture of it... :?

Bad news from the front...

Got a shock bearing kit for a 95`cr500, but it doesnt fit!

maybe someone can confirm (or deny) that it is a 95`shock? would be great :)

First part of the rebuild is done :)
bike is running awesome :D :D

the bike looks great but the front brake hose should be routed on the inside,,wouldn,t want it catchin on trail junk and throwin ya.
