So, here are some pics of my 1995 CR500 rebuild:

There are some scratches on the piston at the intake side, i think those were coming from the piston / cylinder clearance of only 0,05mm (0,002")!?





Anybody knows something about this fork? Kayaba or Showa?
The fork bleeder thread is 4mm, but KYB and SHOWA should be 5mm?!





Nothing to say about this "motor mounting bolt"....



Yesterday i've sent the cylinder to the netherlands for reboring and relieving the exhaust bridge, hope this guy knows what he is doing....


Which chain should i choose? O-Ring or a standard chain?

Ordered several spare parts today

+Chain & sprockets

+Rear brake disc & pads

+New headstays and bolts to fix the "Nig-guyver" like repair of the
previous owner

+Some other small parts like bearings and seals


Hoping to get the frame sandblastet this weekend, so that i can reassamble the bike next weekend....

That piston looks great, why did you want to bore the cylinder?

on the intake side of the piston it looked like a little seizure

Bad news from the front...

Got a shock bearing kit for a 95`cr500, but it doesnt fit!

maybe someone can confirm (or deny) that it is a 95`shock? would be great

great thanks to all of you guys! there is soo much info on this site which saved me a lot of money

the bike looks great but the front brake hose should be routed on the inside,,wouldn,t want it catchin on trail junk and throwin ya.

im no expert but that looks like a 1990 shock.
