My 500 is leaking coolant from the weep hole in the water pump cover. I bought a water pump kit and replaced the seals and gaskets, and it is leaking seemingly just as bad as it did before I touched it. Pretty sure I put the seals in the proper directions, and the water pump shaft was NOT grooved or galled in any way.

What else could cause this issue?

take it apart and reinstall the seal.... facing the right way this time

It was installed flat side in. I am familiar enough with how seals work to know how they are installed

I got another seal and replaced it, hopefully it will cure the issue. the shaft is perfect, so the problem doesnt lie there...
