OK im getting stuck into my 1985 CR500.
im going to race VMX on it & a few other 80's classic MX'ers.

I had this bike bought for me by my girlfriend, she didn't do to bad.
It goes like a shower of shit ( aussie slang, means it goes very good )

It came with the dinted pipe & i broke the kicker gear, so ive had to tow start it .

OK last time i rode it the factory silencer fell away from the pipe extension.
I just took it to my mates alloy fabrication shop to fix it ... for what ever reason i didnt take a picture of it.

i removed the pipe & water pump cover today to check them out.
Water pump had been repaierd quite well with some sort of 2 part bonding material ... i want play with it, remembering if it aint fucked dont fix it.

the pipe on the other hand is missing the top bracket completley so im going to have to fab up a new one.
No one seems to make pipes for the old bikes.

i tryed bying the rubber mount for this bike today, there nil stock, no longer availible.
if any one knows were to find 1 let me know please.

I also found that my air box is melted ..... fleabay here i come

The pipe hanger, stock Banshee hanger is simular but has another plate so might bee too long, you may be able to remove the rubber from the one you have and use something like this

If the mount was intact and had a mirror of that plate that is attached to the frame, then the banshee mount should be perfect

 Where did you get those decals? I was looking for the number plate backgrounds like that but didn't come across any that were nearly that nice. Is that a complete kit, or available separately?

You will benefit from my efforts.
I like the European MX500GP scene of the day.
I have alot of the Duke DVD's & my desire to restore my 80's VMX bikes to that look incoreged me to research into who does what & when.

Most places do rad or side plates but never a full kit.
I got onto one of the original guys who did them in the day & he said he'd have a look & see what he could find ...... he did well.

There from the UK, there not cheap but there great looking & period correct.
More then i had asked for really, ive been waiting for this for over 3mths.
I was cross checking to make sure they were the right decals ect.........

Once i paid for them i had them inside of 10 days.

EVO-MX LTD <sales@evo-mx.com> Frank & Chris .... there good guys, give me a plug as well
