Reeds?

Post by USMC 500 »

Thinking about upgrading my reeds.....any thoughts out there Hoons? I've been seeing boyesen replacement reeds for like $40 and I've been seeing the whole Boyesen reed valve assembly for like $140.

I've also heard that one way to test reeds is to pull the assembly out and fill it with water.....good reeds should only allow a certain amount of drops per minute.....Don't quote me cause I don't know shit about shit.....

However can anyone verify this method?

I got Boyesen Super Stock reeds on a 96 cage in my 1985 engine - they run awesome, they are cheap and this coming from a guy who loves vForce.

I have a question about reeds, I have an '89 and an '01 both have 8 pettles, 4 top, 4 bottom, I picked up some FMF reeds and they are 4 pettle? they say that they are for '89 - '01, they look to be wide enough to cover the whole width of the cage, just wondering is there a 4 pettle reed cage or would these go onto my cage with each covering 2 places :?:
