Ported Cylinder

Through a good friend, I was able to have Cliff White port a 500 cylinder for me. For those that do not know of him, he was with factory Honda during the Bayle, Stanton era. All I can say it what an incredible difference. There were parts of the powerband that I had a hard time coming to grips with. The motor now has the tractorlike pull that has a few more revs but is so much better to ride. I think the motor feels like it is so much smoother both in power and vibrations. He still does amazing work with the porting tool. I am doing an 01 250 and he will doing his magic on that cylinder too.

May I have an idea what it would cost a guy like myself? I'm trying to budget my bike overhaul right now.

Both Tom Morgan and Eric Gorr claim the 2000 CR250 jug has more potential with a port job than an 01.

2000's had a T on the Jug, 01's have a V next to the reed cage.

I assume you want a virgin jug not a ported one?

I've got a 01 with fresh plating, hasn't been installed or run. Matching wiseco single ring new piston.

Also have a TMR 00 jug with full tilt outdoor MX port job that was done for the blackfoot team. With the correct ignition/pipe/carb it's in the 57 HP range I'm told. Very close to the HRC stuff of that era. That jug needs plating.
