No exceleration

Post by freeride588 »

Ok so i have a 91 motor with a brand new top end that runs great from idle to half throttle and then when i try to give it more throttle its almost like its hitting a wall and sometimes its makes a slapping noise or rattling noise at acceleration. It starts up great and like i said idles great.

39 PWK

48 pilot

DGJ needle in middle position

170 Main

The pipe is sealed up good the silencer has new packing and the carb is brand new. Brand new Reeds that look great

The airscrew really has no impact as i can turn it quite a bit with no result and it is turns all the way in for the bike to run.

Im getting spooge out the back of the silencer.

Any help would be awesome

Check fuel supply, could be a plugged filter or vent tube.

Got blue spark?

Filter is good and carb is brand new and i checked everything

I dont think its fuel related as the problem was there before with the PJ which was a reason to get the 39mm PWK that is on there now but the problem is still there. Let me know guys im really trying to figure this crap out. Thanks alot

So you did pull the line off the carb and verify that you have good fuel flow then?

So if you have fuel and compression, what's left?

spark issue I'm betting.

That's why I asked if it had good fuel flow, filter or vent line.

a bad CDI ground did that to my bike, the bolt was half out, for some reason it would start great, and run great up to 3500 rpm, where it would hit a wall, sound and feel like it was way rich, spooge out the back too

it felt kinda like when my main jet fell out on my cr 80o
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.
