Wow, I have never had one break there, for me the rubber part has been the problem. Is the rubber part of yours hard as a rock? Because that would be the only reason it would break the metal tab from what I can figure. Unless the tab was somehow to tight I guess. Trip out on that.

Well if you don't preload the pipe that part will last a long time.

Nope the rubber is still pliable. Have no idea how or even when the thing got broke. It could have been since I bought the bike because the pipe was never loose but I never checked that piece.

Explain please so I don't break another.
I was planning on hanging the pipe to not be stressed even if that meant using some washers here or there.

You can see on the end that is not broke that it was under a ton of load, not good as this will also make yuor pipe more prone to crack.
Hmmmmmmmm crack and pipe but thats another story.
So use washers as shims and a little longer bolt so that it does not pull a ton of load onto the pipe.
Pipe Stay

Spend the Miniscule $$$ and order a FEW of them...
Such a non consequentiaql part - not worth a post even - just order a few of them and quit trying to fix the part as it is Un-Fixable - Figure it out - Spooge it or lose it - not worth a post
Cheap Ass
I cannot believe anyone replied to this spooge even....buck up order the part and be done with it .. as this part is available for cheap
Do you need a Re-Tread Knobby too?
Nuff said Quit ANALYZING this shit and tell the bro to the ORDER A NEW PART that is the FIX - if you cannot afford such a part you can go to Home Depot and get some steel and spend hours modding it to fit.
Don't Spooge it Ride it - NOTHING HAS STOPPED ME FROM A RIDE - ESP.SUCH A SPOOGE PART AS THIS
