Ok, thought it was finally time to share:

Ok now is as good as time as any to start posting my build.

I started this project with nothing so I needed the 500 donor, looked around a bit and found a pristine 1994 CR500 local to me (Ohio), turns out the guy liked guns so all the better for me, I traded a couple of AR-15’s and the 500 was mine.

Soon after getting the 500 home into the garage (the next day) it was time to start de-constructing.

I have a lot of fabulous 94 steelie parts to sell, everything except the motor / electronics / carb , ( I will try to get these posted asap).

Then the jug and Head went to Glen for trail port work (the man is truly an artist).

But seriously..... Glen has had a long streak of terrible machine work supplied to members of this site. Check it carefully before you assemble it.

Lots of bad bore finishes and holding proper tolerences....

Heres a recent example...

Just sayin'.......

Then picked up a 2007 crf250 frame (new part out)

hacked her apart (this was the second try, first one was ugly)

Started tossing ideas around

Tacked it in for the mock up

Then welded it up

OMG!!!!
Can't believe people are still sending him shit ?????

Well those are the boring bar marks that didn't get honed out because he bores them to finish size then ball hones for good looks and thats what it looks like after it runs for 10 mins!!! I can imagine what the rings look like???

looks great, but I'd loose the extra silencer, there was another thread with a dual and it may look bling but it robs HP

Yea the donor was mint, it was the guys back up bike he hardly ever rode it. Now I have a pile of barely used 94 parts... as for the head stays yea went kinda overboard. Gave a local machinist a set of drawings and had him carve them out of billet.
