That giant rock thing is a Marino sheep.
It is widely said in Australian circles, that the country was built off the sheep's back, way back when Australia was first settled.

The water pump & clutch cover have both been replaced, they look brand new.

I moved to Melbourn last year.

I cant seem to find a complete set of plastics for this bike.

My mates '85 ate two covers ( and many different coolants ) before we gave up and fitted the later alloy cover.
Best thing i can think of if your going to stick with the magnesium cover is to drain the coolant after use and leave it dry until next ride.

The oxides form very quickly!!!

Once you sandblast, you must coat it with the epoxy within a few minutes.....

This is what I use. You can do the hole motor with it to get the OEM look. Works on hubs to for the oem look. Its gas, alcohol, nitro and carb cleaner resistent. Its one of three things that WILL STICK to aluminum... Epoxy, Self Etch Primer and Powder coat.... Do Not Use a rattle can it will never get hard... Or it would get hard in the can!! Make sense?

You can use something simple like this 10 minute Devcon...

1. Sandblast.

2. Mix epoxy and paint it on...

3. Crack a beer.

excuse my ignorance ....
Were on the same page Bob ... a 2 pack Epoxy is the same to me as it is to you.
Are we treating the inside or out or both.
My water pump & cluth case's seem to be relitivley new.
If i had slight or minor corrosion from the water cooling system, is your Epoxy treatment the way to go.

In side & out ?????

PS... were do i get new bloody plastics for my 85?

Stoff's cheers mate.
